Edith May Boerema, age 94, of Byron Center was promoted to her Heavenly Home on Thursday, June 7, 2018.  While raising her children, she worked in Welcome Wagon.  She also enjoyed serving in many capacities at her church.  Edith ministered many years with her husband in the music group Sunrise Trio.  She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald; sisters, Ruth Adamo, Jeanette Curtis, Irene Johnson; brother, Harold Johnson; brothers-in-law, Lyle Kohler, Floyd Hettinga.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children Sharon Boerema, Curtis and Beverly Boerema, and Scott and Brenda Boerema; grandchildren Shandra and Jeff Baker, Travis and Carri Boerema, Sheri and Scott Groenke, Anna and Tim Karel, Rebecca and Andrew Mulder, and Cody Boerema; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Hettinga; sister-in-law, Esther Johnson; brothers-in-law Raymond and Mildred Boerema, Lee Curtis; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12 at 11:00 am at Grandville Bible Church, 4122 44th St SW, Grandville, 49418 with Pastor Tom Couch officiating.  Interment Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Grandville Bible Church.
