Edith “Edi” Martin, age 82, formerly of Coopersville, most recently of Mission Point of Cedar Springs, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 6, 2023. Edi was blessed with an independent spirit and a loving heart who dearly cherished her family and friends. She was blessed with the talent of music, where she learned to play the piano at a young age. Her love of music was also passed on to her children and grandchildren. Edi enjoyed her independence, camping and taking many day trips. Being outside and visiting many beautiful places around the State gave her peace and relaxation. Above all, her love of Jesus and giving to others was evident to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Martin; her granddaughter, Alena Layton; and step son, Mark Martin. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Tim and Vicky Bronkema; Jan and John Layton, Marcia and Dave Przybysz; step daughter, Mary (Victor) Martin Meija; grandchildren, Justin and Cristen Bronkema, Judson and Alisa Bronkema, Taylor and Alicia Bronkema, Beth and Seth Wixtrom, Caleb and Emily Layton, Sam (Ashley) Layton, Julia Layton, Michael and Emily Przybysz, Mason Przybysz; 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, 2023, at 12 noon at Camp Lake Baptist Church, 12150 Division Ave N., Sparta, MI, with Pastor Dennis Tyson officiating. Burial Evangeline Cemetery in Boyne City, MI. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 11-12 noon prior to the service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Camp Lake Baptist Church.
