Dylan James Kosiba, age 39, of Battle Creek, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 16, 2026, after a long struggle with mental health. He was born on August 1, 1986, in Allegan County, MI. Dylan graduated from Wayland Union High School and worked with the Kerber brothers all through high school. Dylan was a skilled iron worker for many years with CSI and Black River Builders, and enjoyed working with many friends throughout his career. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of six years, Stephanie; mother-in-law, Lori and Stan Wills; father-in-law, Stephen Barnhart; and his dogs, Cody and Mister. Dylan will be sadly missed by all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins who reside in the Central Michigan areas of Mt. Pleasant, Alma, and Shepherd; and his Canadian family, uncle John and Linda Kosiba; cousin, Joe and Fallon Kosiba, along with their son, Miles. He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Kosiba, who passed away in July of 2024.

I had the honor of working beside Dylan for over ten years, and for the last five or more years we were together every single day when employed at CSI. Somewhere along the way, we stopped being just coworkers. We became friends, and then we became brothers. Dylan wasn't just someone I worked with. He was the person who had my six no matter what. He watched out for me, and I watched out for him. He taught me so much, both on the job and in life, and in the kind of man I wanted to be. Losing Dylan has shattered me. The shock, the emptiness, the silence he leaves behind... there is no way to fill that space. His character, his loyalty, his heart, they were one of a kind. People like Dylan do not come around twice. I am trying to believe that one day life will feel steady again, that the tears and the guilt will not hit so hard. But right now it is just grief, and missing him, and wishing for one more conversation. I love you, brother. I will carry you with me for the rest of my life. I will never forget the times we shared, the good, the bad, and everything in between. This is not goodbye. It is see you soon. Rest easy, Dylan. You deserve peace.
