Remembering Dwain Irish

Dwain Irish, age 73, of Grandville, passed away to be with his Lord on Friday, January 27, 2023. He was a proud Navy Veteran. Dwain was preceded in death by his parents, Dwain and Johannah Irish. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 12 years, Karen Irish; children, Paul Irish, Heather Irish, Nina Lewis and her fiancé, Eric Brown; grandchildren, Brittney and Jacob Blaskis, Amber Irish, Zach Cline, Saydee Cline, Devin Irish, Hayden Brown, Easton Brown; sister-in-law, Barbara and Keith Shann; nephews, Michael Nowlin and fiancée, Megan Bos, and Seth Shann; and he will be greatly missed by his best friend, Keith Shann. According to Dwain’s wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held.

Dwain was a hardworking, complicated man. He had a great smile and sense of humor, though his sarcasm was difficult to hear at times. I am grateful that Dwain served his country and that Paul and Heather are part of our family. Rest in peace Dwain.

Dwain treated me special like he was my. big brother. He had an awesome smile and a great sense of humor. My ex husband Joe and Dwain enjoyed hunting and fishing together. He was a hard worker with a strong work ethic. He loved his family and friends and will be missed.

Can’t believe you’re gone!!! You will be greatly missed by all!!! You treated me like I was your own child, and my kids. You even gave Hayden his awesome nickname “squeaky”. Dwain was a hardworking man who always worked 2 jobs, even in the Navy. With a sarcastically funny, sense of humor he joined the Navy after Scottville HS graduation. His basic training was in San Diego, followed by a special project in Bethesda, MD and then Great Lakes, IL where our son, Paul, was born. When transferred to ship at Mayport, Fl, the ship eventually left for Barcelona, Spain. Dwain's 4 years commitment ended and we returned to Lake Ann where our daughter, Heather, was born. His love of cooking, learned from his dad, followed with his Navy training. Though it was tough for him to show emotions, he loved his kids.
