Duwayne L. Heilman, age 75, of Grandville, went peacefully home into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, May 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maryann Fausey; father, Merle Heilman; sister-in-law, Joanne Klinger.  He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Carole; sons, Tim and Christine Heilman, Doug and Christy Heilman; grandchildren, Ben, Natalie, Joey, Tommy, Ethan, Owen, Asa, and Tegan; brothers, Gilbert and Carol Heilman, Arvin and Susan Heilman; in-laws, John and Judi Versluys, Don and Ann Huisman, Hank Klinger, Dan and Melissa Huisman; and many nieces and nephews.  Duwayne proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy.  He provided accounting services to multiple corporations and individuals throughout the West Michigan area.  Duwayne was a very active servant of the Lord.  Interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 12 noon.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday, May 6, from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Friends and Families of Cystic Fibrosis or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion and the Oncology Department at Sparrow Hospital.
