I have so many wonderful memories of Duane and wish I could share them all. Duane was warm and kind and always wanted to make sure everyone around him was taken care of. Sometimes when Duane was over to work on our computers we would end up talking about his kids and his wife. It was clear that his family meant everything to him. I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you all in prayer.

I have 2 memories of Duane. One is time we spent together on the lessons before his baptism on 12-8-75. Of all the students I ever had in classes in the UP or in Goshen, Duane was one of the few who took them seriously. He asked good questions and tried hard to make the application to his life. The other is when he went with our family to the MYF Convention in Canada. He rode with us because Wildwood didn't have room for him in their vehicle. When we got there, he joined that group. After it was over, he came back home with us. My prayer for the family is that each of you may know personally "the peace of God which is beyond all of our understanding"

I was a Jr. in HS and Duane was a Sr. and we had journalism class together. It was a fun class because of the eclectic group we had in there. Duane was always the one to crack jokes under his breath and you knew he was up to something when you saw the sparkle in his eye. Although I had not seen him in many years, clearly the sparkle continued in him, through his love for the lovely Mary (who I also knew way before she met Duane), and will continue to live on in his beautiful children. I can only imagine the sadness you are all experiencing. May you find peace and joy in having known him and being connected to him forever. I know that through your faith in Him, you know that your Dad and beloved husband will always be smiling on you from above. I am sorry beyond words for your loss.

Thinking of all of you during this time. When I was a kid in the UP, he was one of the big kids I looked up to. I remember sometime we were staying with the Gage family and I saw him doing rapid fire sit ups and to me, that was the most impressive thing I had seen someone do. Blessings to all his family.

We are so sorry to hear of Duanes passing. What a great guy he was! We have fond memories of him as a teen helping us with hay at Brimley. He could take a bale in each hand and run and grab another two before anyone else could even do one. Amazing strength. May Jesus comfort you at this most difficult time.
