Dr. Bouma III

BOUMA - Dr. Hessel "Bud" Bouma III, aged 64 of Grand Rapids, died Saturday, May 2, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hessel and Cornelia Bouma; infant brother; sister, Penthea; mother-in-law, Myrtle Cooper and brother-in-law, George Cooper. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Ruth Bouma; their children, Christopher, Brian (fiancé Katherine Kandell), Amy, and Laura Bouma; brothers, Bruce (Sue) Bouma, Rolf (Sandra) Bouma; sister, Margery (Gerald) Frens; father-in-law, Jesse Cooper; brothers-in-law, David (Ruth) Cooper, Thomas (Cynthia) Cooper; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Cooper; several nieces and nephews. Dr. Bouma served as Professor of Biology at Calvin College for 37 years and was a member of Church of the Servant. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 6 at 11:00am at Church of the Servant, 3835 Burton St. SE., with Pastor Jack Roeda officiating. His family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00AM until 10:45AM at Church.
