Douglas H. VanderMarkt, age 74, of Jenison, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 13, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold VanderMarkt. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary Lou VanderMarkt; sons, Jason VanderMarkt, Brandon VanderMarkt; grandsons, Tyler VanderMarkt and Ryan VanderMarkt; mother, Leona VanderMarkt; brothers, Dan VanderMarkt, Dale and Kathy VanderMarkt, Dennis VanderMarkt; sister, Joan and Mark Mosey; and several nieces and nephews. Doug served in the U.S. Army, stationed in Korea. He deeply loved his family and was a car enthusiast who especially liked Corvettes. A private funeral service will be held. The burial will take place at Floral View Memorial Gardens.
