Douglas Loran Van Wyk

Douglas Loran Van Wyk, age 36, of Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 27, 2018. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Bowyer Sr., Loran and Betty Van Wyk. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife of six years, Cassandra; children, Rylee, Hunter and Grady; parents, Doug and Robin Van Wyk; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Marty Brandt; sister and brother-in-law, Casie and Michael Williams; grandmother, Lois Bowyer; nieces, Savannah and Diedra; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Doug loved to be outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. His dogs, Smokey and Abby, were very special to him. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive SW with Pastor Jerry Blom officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

My condolences to the Van Wyk families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Douglas. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which says "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says at John 5:28, 29- "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to the ransom of Jesus Christ. Thus, we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.
