Dorothy S. Ledger (Gipner)

Ledger (Gipner), Dorothy S. Dorothy Sunshine Ledger, aged 89 formerly of Grand Rapids, passed away Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Rittenhouse Assisted Living Center in Indianapolis, IN. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished her family. After over 20 years of dedicated service, Dorothy retired as an executive secretary from the Michigan State Highway Department. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Donald Gipner Sr. and Jack Ledger; son, Gordon Gipner and daughter-in-law, Debbie Gipner; brother, Asa Housler; and sister, Cora Emery. She is survived by her children, William Donald (Gerry) Gipner Jr., Terry James Gipner, Mary Lee (Roger) Petrie; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Trudy (Hans) Hebert; and many nieces and nephews. The family will meet relatives and friends 11am to 1pm, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming with a graveside service to follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

To Dorothy's Family, Don't kno if you guys remember me. We lived across from John Ford Lake in Newaygo, MI. I loved spending time with your mom while I was growing up. The last time I saw her was around the mid to late '90s, up at government lake. Thought of her often wondering what ever happened to her. Your mom was an absolute sweetheart!
