Dorothy H. Nieland, aged 96 of Kentwood, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerritt. Dorothy is survived by her son, Elmer; grandson Adam Nieland. Funeral services for Dorothy will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE with Rev. Will Hensen officiating. Interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to the service.

At this very difficult time I would like to extend my condolences an share words of encouragment for both you and your loved ones. We may often wonder, why is life so short? And if we will ever see our loved ones again? The Bible holds out a hope that has personally put my heart at ease in times of grief. John 5:28,29 states clearly that we can see and hold our loved ones once again. This has given me peace of mind and something to wait for in the near future. I truly hope it does so for you and your loved ones as well.
