NELSON - Mrs. Dorothy E. Nelson aged 90 of Grand Rapids passed away Friday, October 5, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, and great grand daughter Crystal. Surviving are her children, Thomas (Joyce) Nelson Sr., Donald A. Nelson, Barbara J. (Thomas) Kniff; grandchildren, Richard (Melisa) Kniff, Cheryl (Brian) Skaryd, Ronda (Scott) Brinks, Tom (Regina) Nelson, William (Sherry) Nelson, Melissa (Jeffery) Varice, Jay (Rhonda) Nelson, Adam (Stacey) Nelson; great grandchildren, Richele, Megan and Ryan Kniff, Anna, Erik and Ella Skaryd, Josh and Nate Brinks, Grant and Elijah Nelson, Kayla, Saraya and Quentin Varice Amy Nelson, , Ashlee Nelson, April Potter, Jackie (Dan) Vanis; great great grandchildren, Tony Potter, Blake Vanis, Vicktoria Nelson: Several nieces and nephews. Deceased brothers Arthur, and Richard. Dorothy worked at Godwin School for over 44 years in the Cafeteria. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Good News Baptist Church, 6830 Eastern Ave. SE., with Pastor Karl E. Pike officiating. Her family will greet relatives and friends Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., and one hour prior to the service at church.
