Dorothy Butkiewicz

Butkiewicz (Lemmink), Dorothy “Dutch” – On Monday, February 8, 2021, Dorothy joined her husband, Walt, her parents, and her siblings to celebrate her final homecoming. Most likely she is dancing a polka with Walt right now. She and Walt were married for 58 years before his passing in 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents Cornelius and Minnie Lemmink and her nine siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Diane and Mike Dempsey - Justin (Lalka), Kevin, Brad (Rachel); Jayne Butkiewicz - Allison (Herb), Nick, Melissa (Kyle), Spencer (Madeline) and their father, Joe Swartz; Jeanne and Bob DeVink - Lance (Annelies), Mitchell (Mallory), Matthew; and Steve Butkiewicz; six great grandchildren - Molly, Maverick, Kennedy, Kensley, Stella, and Palmer. The family would like to acknowledge the friendship that Carol Lemmink has shown to her over the past several years. There are many nieces and nephews to remember as well, in addition to life-long friends. The family would like to thank the staff at Grand Village Assisted Living for the care they provided over the past month, and Faith Hospice and the staff at Trillium Woods for their comfort care on her final day. Due to COVID, a private family funeral will be held 11:00 am Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf (Grandville).
