Remembering Dorothy “Dottie” Jane Bushen
Dorothy “Dottie” Jane Bushen, aged 90 of Sunset Manor in Jenison, formerly of Byron Center, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 7, 2018. Dottie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt that cherished her family and was blessed with a great sense of humor. She was gifted with art and creativity, enjoying painting and ceramics. Dottie was a faithful employee at Michigan Wheel for 32 years, in the office, until she retired. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold, her sister, Ruth Kersjes, and her brother, Jack Long. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, David and Roxanne Bushen; her grandchildren, Jonathan and Heidi Bushen, Jennifer and Matthew Clayton; her great-grandchildren, Brynn, Madelyn, and Dax Clayton; her sister, Sandy Viau; her niece, Linda and Joe Prihoda; her great-niece, Emily Prihoda; many other loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11am at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville, with Pastor Tom Couch officiating. Interment Oakhill Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday from 10-11 am prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Mel Trotter Ministries or to Spectrum Health Hospice. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers of Spectrum Health Hospice and Sunset Manor for the love and compassionate care given to Dottie.
