Doris Steenbergen

Doris Jean Steenbergen, age 94, of Jenison, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 4, 2026. Doris had a deep love for her family, cherished family get-togethers and loved spending time playing games. She found great joy in knitting, both for her loved ones and for charitable donations. She was committed to serving others through her work delivering Sunset Meals and was a dedicated employee of the Wyoming Public School System for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Harold Steenbergen; and daughter, Carol VanDyken. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ed and Becky Steenbergen, Len and Bobbi Steenbergen; son-in-law, Paul VanDyken; 8 grandchildren, Tracy and Bruce Deemter, Brad and Tonya Steenbergen, Jodi and Todd Veldhouse, Lindsay and Craig Jeffers, Jaime and Scott Candler, Erica Steenbergen, Nicole and Brad Mokma, Stephanie and John Bakale; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Donna and Arn Tillema; many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 9, at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Rick VanderWall officiating. The burial will take place at Grandville Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday, April 8, from 5-7 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
