Doris Jean Komar, age 93, of Grandville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Doris will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to her family, her gentle spirit, and the simple joys that brought happiness to her life. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, spending time at the lake, and never missed the opportunity to watch The Young and the Restless. She had a remarkable resilience throughout her long life, surviving a house fire as an infant and, many decades later, even a lightning strike in her 90s—a testament to her strength and enduring spirit.

Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Arnold Komar Jr.; daughter-in-law, Toni Komar; and brothers, Don (Sara) Butcher and Jack Butcher.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dr. Karl Komar, Kari Komar, David Komar, Adam Komar, and Jack Komar; grandchildren, Justin (Carissa), Chase (Traci), and Cole Judy, Alysia Komar, and Michael Komar; great-grandchildren, Nolan, AJ, Maryn, and Everleigh Judy; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In accordance with Doris’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
