Doris Eleanor Idema

Doris Idema, age 95, of Grand Rapids, formerly York, Pennsylvania, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 4, 2021. Doris was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She worked as a caregiver and was proud to have helped take care of Burt Reynolds. Doris loved the Lord and loved to tell others about Jesus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval (Bud) Idema; brother, Roger and Mary Viergever; sister, Lenore Viergever; and brother-in-law, Tedd Kieviet. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Daniel and Sharon Idema, Patricia and James Hofstra, Jacalyn and Charles Rawlings; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; sister, Winifred Kieviet, Yvonne DeHaan; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service for Doris will be held on Monday, October 11, at 11 am at Georgetown Bible Church, 4114 Baldwin St. Hudsonville, 49426 with Pastor Bryan Walmer officiating.

Patty, you and your family are certainly in our thoughts and prayers. She led a good, active life and raised some wonderful kids....which made many happy memories for you to cherish! May God be with you as you go through these days of letting go. I'm sure Jim is there for you to lean on, as always, and so is your awesome family.
