Donna Marie DeBoer, age 79, of Wyoming, MI went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, April 5, 2021. Donna was born in Ste St Marie, MI on August 19, 1941. As the Food Manager, aka “Lunch Lady” for 27 years for Godfrey Lee Public School, Donna was known for her great soup and delicious peanut butter bars. She enjoyed reading her Bible, spending time with her family, playing Bingo, and the occasional word find or crossword puzzle. However, when asked what her greatest achievement in life was, she responded, “my children”. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward DeBoer; son, Fredrick Boutwell; and daughter, Jeannette Boutwell. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gene (Raylene) Boutwell of Howard City, MI, Donald (Lelea) Boutwell of Grand Rapids, MI; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, who will affectionately remember her as “Grandma Buzzy”; and many nieces and nephews. Aside from the children she doted on, Donna is survived by her sisters, Audrey (Jim) Johnson of Ste St Marie, MI and Gayle Jones of Wyoming, MI. The family would like to express their gratitude to Medilodge of Wyoming for the compassionate and loving care they gave Donna for the six years she lived there. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021, from 11am-4pm, at Palmer Park, Shelter A, 1275 52nd St SW, Wyoming, MI. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow bluebirds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then, oh, why can't I?
If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh, why can't I?
I’ll miss your beautiful voice everyday, grandma. It brings me peace to know that you are smiling down on all of us from over the rainbow. I love you forever. May your immaculately beautiful soul Rest In Peace.

So sorry for your families loss. She was the best lunch lady. Knew family well and spent lots of time with them growing up in the Godfrey Lee area. Jeanette (her daughter) was the first classmate I loss in elementary school.
That was so hard on all of us because being such a small class. Rest In Peace Donna.

JR, Raylene, & family,
While loss is always difficult, these “pandemic times” make grief more difficult to process. We are so sad to hear of the timing of this loss and are praying for you all to be drawn closer to the Lord in this difficult time and to be comforted by Him above all.
Psalm 85:8 (NKJV)
I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints.”

I’m so sorry for the loss of this wonderful soul. Although I never had the chance to meet her, I feel the love her son Donny had for her. It’s easy to see she was very special to him. May the good times and fond memories help Donny and Lelea and the family through this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you
