Donna Jean Ketelaar

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Donna Jean (Homrich) Ketelaar entered the presence of the Lord on January 1, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ethel; husband, Donald LeRoy Ketelaar; son, James Arthur Ketelaar, and five loving sisters.

Donna’s life was marked by her unwavering devotion to her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sue and Don Kaverman, (Scott and Meghan, Robert and Shandra, Josh and Amanda Eccardt), Den and Mary Ketelaar, (Shannon and Joel Burkel, Darcy and Mark Shirey, Michael Ketelaar), Julie and Dennis Haney (DJ and Dawn, Ashley and Zack Titmus), Mary and Carl Walker (Cassie and Mike Beauchamp, Derrick and Garrett Walker), Kevin and Laurie Ketelaar, (McKenna and Evan Sholtis, Taylor and Karlie Ketelaar), David and Amy Ketelaar (Marlee and Connor Blanch, Morgan Ketelaar); 16 great grandchildren; sister, Lee Roersma, and many other loving family members. 

A woman of deep faith, Donna's greatest legacy was leading her family to faith—a path from which none have strayed. In the end, there is truly nothing more important. We find comfort in the confidence that she has heard the words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

As we say goodbye to our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, we celebrate a life well lived. She was a source of strength and inspiration to so many and her legacy will live on in the values she instilled in her family and in the countless lives she touched. Her life reflected what matters most, faith in Christ, love and sacrifice for others. We love you mom!

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Monday, January 5, at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 6390 Belmont Avenue NE, Belmont, with Rev. Fr. Larry King, officiating. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont, with a vigil service beginning at 7 pm. An additional visitation will take place Monday, one hour prior to Mass at the church. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Boulder Creek Assisted Living in Rockford for their faithful, compassionate care of Donna.
