Donna J. Wierenga

Donna J. Wierenga, age 80, of Jenison, was called home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 and is now face to face with her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Ken; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Ann Jeltema. Donna was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was blessed with a great sense of humor. She humbly served her Lord and her church with her time and talents in many ways. Donna blessed many families with her gift of knitting and sewing, as well as bringing meals to those in the community and at church. Her love and passion for music led her to use her talents in the church choir, bell choir, and playing her flute. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Karen and Dave DeVries, Kenn and Carol Wierenga, Conni and Dave Vollink, Kurt and Nancy Wierenga; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sisters and brother, Louise  (Max - deceased) Fassee, Richard Jeltema, Vivian (John - deceased) VanDyke, Lorraine and Melvin Vandenberg; sisters-in-law, Elaine and Ron Veenstra, Ruth (Mel - deceased) Wierenga; several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; many dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 11 am at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress, Jenison, with Rev. Matthew Palsrok officiating.  Interment Floral View Memorial Gardens.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 5-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW., and also from 10-10:45 prior to the service at church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Spectrum Health Hospice.
