Donald Lee Vogel

Donald Vogel, aged 82 of Wyoming, made his peaceful journey to heaven on Friday, September 23, 2016, freed from the respiratory illness that had plagued him in the last few years of his life. He passed, surrounded and comforted by his loving family. Donald was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country.. He will be joyously greeted in heaven by his mother and father, Effie Vogel (Heemstra) and William J. Vogel. Don will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Anita Lou Vogel (Perkins). He will also be forever loved and missed by his family; children, Rodney (Betsy), Shawn, Brian (Kathy); grandchildren, Audrey, Ryan (Lynda), Paige Eash (John), and Zachary. Donald will be sadly missed by his brother and “friend”, Gordon Vogel, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the “gift of caring” that Don received from the excellent nurses and caretakers from Spectrum Health, MediLodge of Wyoming, and Faith Hospice. Funeral services for Donald will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at Wesley Park United Methodist Church, 1150 - 32nd Street SW, Wyoming, 49509 with Rev. Dean Prentiss officiating. Interment McBride Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Wesley Park United Methodist Church would be appreciated.
