Donald E. Brandt, age 88, of Grand Rapids, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, August 19, 2019. Don proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Brandt; daughter, Donna Pachulski; daughter-in-law, Janice Brandt; son, Gregory Brandt; granddaughters, Dawn Shaver and Randi Brandt; grandson, Joey Denton; and great-great-grandsons, Braxton and Cash. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, John Brandt, Mark Brandt, Robin and Mark Todd, Terri Brandt, Melody Hause; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; brother, Ronald Neibarger; sister, Joyce Bruursema; and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW. with Pastor Allen Pontarelli officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
