Gary, Donald D. Donald D. Gary, age 83, of Grandville, went to join the Angel Choir on Thursday, December 12, 2013. He proudly served our country in the US Air Force during the Korean War. Donald was an accountant for 30 years. He was an active member of St. Pius X Parish and an avid pool player. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roland, Ray and Dick Gary; sister, Audrey Hayes; son-in-law, David Smith. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 ½ years, Delores; their children, Yvonne Smith of Grandville, Kevin and Alice Gary of Walker; grandchildren, Jennifer and Derrick Potter, Greg and Megan Smith, LeAnn Smith, Jessica and Nick Badman, Matthew Gary, Niki and Lucas Smith; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Gary of New York; brother-in-law, Paul Rohlman of Kansas; sisters-in-law, Eileen and R.L. Sweet of Kansas; Helen Kincheloe of Missouri; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday 11 am at St. Pius X Parish, 3937 Wilson Avenue SW, Grandville with Fr. Chris Rouech Celebrant. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW and also on Tuesday from 10-10:45 am prior to the service at church. A Rosary service will be held Monday at 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or St. Pius X Parish Memorial Fund.
