Dona Kovalak

Mrs. Dona M. Kovalak, age 84 went to be with her Lord, on Sunday evening, December 18, 2011. Dona was preceded by her daughter, Ann Reay in 2005 and two brothers, Ivan Meyer and Ralph Meyer. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Judson Kovalak; her sons and daughters in law, Sam and Barbara Kovalak and Paul and Sue Kovalak; her son in law, Daniel (Sandy) Reay; her grandchildren, Ryan (Dana) Kovalak, Mary (Jeff) Wagner, Theresa (Leo) Urzagaste, Rebecca (Troy) Camarata, Heather (Shane) Jewell, Eric (Caitlin) Kovalak, Elizabeth Kovalak, David (Jenna) Kovalak; eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are her brothers, Nevin (Barb) Meyer and Ken (Sarah) Meyer, her sisters, Beryl (Alvin) Kooiman and Marion (Karl) Sommer. Dona was a member of Comstock Park Congregational Church. Together with Judd, she was a traveler and an adventurer, she was also a gifted woodworker and seamstress. Dona was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, with Pastor Dick Woodward officiating. Her family will greet relatives and friends from 1-3 pm on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made in Dona's name to Smile Train.
