Doloris “Dee” Kamphuis, age 79, of Grandville, MI, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2022. Dee will be deeply missed by her husband, Chester, of 55 years; her children, Mark, Christy, and Tammy (Joe); her grandchildren, Avery and Carter Kamphuis, Ericka and Corrine Kamphuis, Sarah (Scoot) Vines, Michael Leal, and MacKenzie Leal. Dee was preceded in death by her siblings, Duane Powell and Darlene Johnson. Dee retired from Kellogsville School District after a 33 year teaching career. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed traveling. Dee was an active member at SouthSide Church of Christ for 55 years. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, 11 am at SouthSide Church of Christ, 1304 36th St SE, Grand Rapids, with Preacher Fredrick Klein officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 5-8pm at MKD Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 Division Ave, Wyoming. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Shultz - Lewis Children’s Home (P.O Box 471 Valparaiso, IN 46384).

Dear Chet - I don’t know if you remember me, but you cut my hair from the time I was a little boy until you retired. I became a school teacher myself. I taught for thirty-two years. Ironically, I taught one year at Kelloggsville as well. I remember that Dee was an elementary reading specialist at Kelloggsville. While in the barber chair, we would often discuss many of the “headaches” we as teachers endured. I am truly sorry you are going through this difficult time. I will add you and your family to my prayer list. All my best to you, My Friend.

I was so sad to hear about dee’s passing the last time I seen her was her sisters memorial unfortunately I will not be able to attend services our prayers go out to her family

Dee was a sweet, kind, loving second mother to me growing up. She was very influential in my childhood and I loved her very much. She will always be remembered.
