Dolores Vivian Schroeder

Dolores Schroeder, age 96, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Regina (Jean) and Christian (Chris) Schroeder;  her best friend, Laura Lee Gibson;  and her son, John Howe. She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Ed (Linda) Howe, Mike (Sharon) Howe, Mary Howe-Rodriguez, Gordon Howe, Laura (Randy) Dawe; and her cousins; James Readwin, and Mary Kay McKay.  Dolores graduated from Marywood Academy in June 1946. In 1958 she was selected as the photographer of the year in black and white by the Grand Rapids Camera Club. She worked at the Grand Rapids Press for 32 years.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Friday, May 2 at Shrine of St. Francis Xavier & Our Lady of Guadalupe, 250 Brown St. SE, Grand Rapids with Rev. Edwin Carreno officiating.  Burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family at the church an hour prior to the mass from 10-11 am.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Veritas Society.
