Dolores M. Moore

March 10, 1933 ~
September 27, 2022

On September 27, 2022 Dolores M. Moore entered the mansion Christ has prepared for her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Angie Meurs. She is survived by her husband, Richard Moore; children, Linda and Tom Weaver, Pam and Fred Plainte, and Rick and Sue Moore; sister, Patsy Myaard; brother, Larry and Connie Meurs; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Dolores’ love for the Lord was followed by her love of family. She was a loving, devoted wife to Dick for almost 71 years. She treasured beyond words her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved teaching and she loved children. She taught Sunday school and later would work as an aide teaching students who needed extra help. She was known to help a grandchild with homework on occasion as well. Eventually they would pull up roots and move to their home on Lake Michigan in Leland where she, Dick, and her beloved grandchildren would make a pile of memories. She enjoyed taking walks, painting, gardening, and letter writing when she wasn’t entertaining family and friends. She loved to travel, first with her young family and later with family and friends, however her most anticipated trip was when they went to Montana to see the “grandkids”. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 am Monday, October 3 at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood, with Rev. Jon Ornee officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Monday from 10-11 am at the funeral home prior to the service. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Breton Woods Rehabilitation and Living Centre.

Delores was a wonderful Christian lady. She had a fantastic gift of relating to children at their level. She is enjoying her reward with Jesus. Our sincere condolences to Dick and the family. Dan & Sheryl (Velthouse) Flack Former Olivet Members

Delores was my Sunday School song leader. Her true joy in leading the kids was so evident. One Sunday she was leading the song Come into my heart, into my heart , come into my heart Lord Jesus. Come in today, come in to stay come into my heart Lord Jesus. She then asked if anyone wanted to give their heart to Him that day. I did! She was a dear lady and great friend to my parents also. Dick , Rick may you feel Gods comfort as you lay your loving wife, sweet mom to rest. God Bless. Sincerely Ruth(TerBeek) Scott

Grandma Dolores was such a great lady. She opened her beach home every year during high school for Julie and I to hang. I remember her instructing is to put the petoskey stones we found in Lake Michigan in her stone garden for her landscaping. She was an amazing woman who lead a good life. She will be forever missed and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all have wonderful memories to keep alive.
