Dick L. DeVries

On Sunday, November 1, at SKLD-Beltline, Grand Rapids, MI, Durk “Dick” Lieuwe DeVries passed away at the age 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, Klaas and Janna DeVries of Wyoming, Ontario, Canada. Dick will be remembered by his son, David (Jaime) and grandson, Jack DeVries of Kentwood, MI; his daughter, Jenna McClendon of Panama City, FL; sister, Alice DeVries of Sarnia, Ontario, Canada. Dick was born in Surhuizum, Holland. He immigrated to Ontario, Canada with his parents in 1948. Dick was an avid golfer whether it be playing or watching it. A graveside service will be held 1:30 pm Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Pine Hill Cemetery.

We remember Dick best when he came to our Wyoming,Ontario, Canada home in the early 70's. He was selling insurance and brought along a gift from the company. It was a cookbook that we still use in 2020. Our condolences and may the Lord be with you as a family, especially with Dick's sister Alice. Joe and Femmy Anjema.

I remember great visits when the family visited ours in Shallow Lake, especially the time when we were a little late coming back from boating on the lake behind our parents' farm.
