Diane Jeanne Shelton

On Tuesday July 14th, 2020, Diane Jeanne Shelton, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister passed away at the age of 68. Diane was preceded in death by her father, Dan, mother, Grace as well as younger brother, Douglas and former partner Margaret McCarthy. She is survived by her wife Cristy, three children, Denny Buzzello (Heather), Dean Buzzello (Tracey), and Deanna Washburn (Andrew); seven step children, Katie Whelpley, Jill Flinton (Joey), Chris Whelpley ( Brittany), Ashley Shopp, Marie Newman(Rick), John Zaccaria, and Jospeh Zaccaria.  She is survived by four siblings, Donald Shelton (Lynn), David Shelton (Kimberly), Deborah Shelton, Denise Donley(Robert). She is also survived by father in law Aubrey V. Vining, siblings in law, Aubrey Vining(Kim), Barb Alofs, Terry Vining(Michelle), Cindy Ritola (Lorne), Gail Booth (Rick), Linda Vining, Karen Miller(Rich), Sharon Altman(Bill), Sandy Stoner(Matt), Deb Bowers (Joe) and also special friend Betty Mitchel. She also had several grandchildren. Diane was born August 23rd of 1951 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised in Michigan and after marriage moved to NJ, raised her family and met partner Marge. After Marge’s passing, Diane circled back home to Michigan and met her wife Cristy. Diane adored her family, friends, fur babies and especially her grandchildren. She loved to travel, do crafts, help with her church and play with her many grandchildren. She loved her bus trips to the casino’s with seniors from New Jersey in her younger years. She was an avid collector of lighthouses and of pictures of those that she loved. She had a quirky, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor but had an infectious laugh that was contagious. Family and friends are welcome to the memorial and celebration of life on Friday July 17th at 5pm at Johnson Park in Walker. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to assist the family with burial costs and will have a GoFundMe account at later date.
