Remembering Diana Lynne Chicklan

Chicklan, Diana Lynne Diana Lynne Chicklan, age 52, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Grandville, went home to be with Jesus and her mom and dad, Clarence & Norma Gummere on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.  She will be dearly missed by her sisters and brothers, Toni  and Tom Tobin, Melinda Knapp, David and Mary Gummere, Larry Chicklan; nieces, Amy Rice and Jenny Smith; nephews, Brandon Knapp and Jason Knapp.  Diana loved attending Friendship Chapel, all her sweet friends, going to McDonalds, camping trips, Disney, Mickey Mouse, Detroit Tigers, bowling, animals and going up north to Tom and Toni’s house.  Funeral services will be held on Friday 12 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, with Pastor Lew VanderMeer officiating.  Interment Kent Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may meet the family Friday from 11-12 prior to the service at the funeral home.  The family wishes to thank all of Diana’s care givers from Alternative Pathways for all their love and tender sweet care.

I can remember driving you to Traverse City to see Tom and Toni. We would point forward and yell" TRAVERSE CITY!!!". You hated it if I smoked in the car and handled alot of teasing about going to burger king instead of McDonalds. I still laugh when I remember how you would open your birthday gifts and then pass them to Toni just out of reach of the kids HIGH above your head. I remember how you took the stairs at Tom and Toni's very very slow to get ready for bed. Then one night we offered you ice cream after you got ready for bed, you went up those stairs LIGHTNING fast and were back down with pajamas and ready for icecream at superman speed. It was heavy on my heart to know you had passed away, but I wish I could have been there to see you run in the pearly gates. We will miss you. Your friend and step nephew, Jeremy Tobin Jeremy Tobin

Our sincere condolences to Diana's family ( including Alternative Pathways - her huge family).. She was a wonderful joy to our lives - she was Shannon's best friend and will be missed tremendously!.
