Dennis Kaminski

Dennis Kaminski age 58 of Belmont went to heaven on Sunday May 15, 2011. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Roman; father-in-law, Gerald Bothof and his niece Jessica Villalobos. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Ruth; children Bradley (Laura) Kaminski, Joshua (Hannah) Roelofs, Katie (Nick) Spitler, Aaron Roelofs; granddaughters, Allison Kaminski and Eden Roelofs; mother, Rita Kaminski; mother-in-law, Gertrude Bothof; sisters, Juddee' Maxwell, Donna (Chuck) Kaminski, Janice (Mike) Yowtz, Annette (Vinnie) Trnka; sisters-in-law, Mary (James) Dykstra, Sheryl (Gary) Borgman, Linda (Franco) Villalobos, Diane (Ed) Mudde; many nieces and nephews. Dennis lived his life to the fullest. He loved God, his family, and friends. The way he lived his life was a clear reflection of his personal relationship and faith in Jesus. He lived to serve his Heavenly Father and desired to live in close relationship with Him. Dennis had a servant heart and was always looking for ways to take care of others. Dennis was humble, loving, gentle, kind, practical, and very generous. His smile was contagious! Dennis was born in Grand Rapids. He had four sisters, two younger and two older, and spent his youth roaming the John Ball Park woods. He graduated from Aquinas College. He worked for 30 years at Rapistan and was most recently working for Amway in IT. Dennis built his home in Canon Township and married Ruth Kaminski. Together they have four children and two grandchildren. They shared nine amazing years of marriage and enjoyed many great adventures together traveling and camping with family and friends. They attended Ada Bible Church. Their home was always filled with love and laughter and was a welcoming place for friends and family to enjoy time together. He was an incredible husband and father. Dennis enjoyed playing his guitar, and his music was a blessing to those around him. He always marveled at the greatness of God seen in creation, especially in the stars! Dennis loved biking, hiking, camping, bonfires and canoeing. He also loved making wine, flying his ultralite, relaxing on the deck, concerts, whistling, and sharing a good pun. In October 2010, Dennis was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. He fought the battle well and was always at peace in knowing that one day he would be in Heaven with his Savior. Dennis loved the verse John 8:12, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." Even though Dennis went through many trials with cancer, he was never walking in darkness. Now we know with full confidence that Dennis is in Heaven and will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Yet, we will always remember him and be encouraged and inspired to live our lives as well as he did, to love and care for each other the way that he did, and to walk with the Lord as he did and continues to do to this day. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the Ada Bible Church, 8899 Cascade Rd. SE. His family will greet relatives and friends Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Dr. NE, Belmont.
