Dennis G. Alloway

Dennis G. Alloway, age 64, passed away Friday, June 11, 2021, at his Kentwood home. He was born January 11, 1957 in Baltimore Co, MD, to Arthur L. Sr. & Rose V. Mitchell Alloway. Dennis married his wife, Deborah S. Roberts Elmer Alloway, on December 4, 1999. She preceded him in death. Dennis worked as a painter for nearly 40 years, and belonged to the Sons of AMVETS Post #23. He loved fishing and listening to the Detroit Tigers. Dennis had a great giving heart and would do what he could to help someone in need, family, friend or foe. He will be greatly missed by all. Surviving are 1 stepson: David L. (Vera) Elmer; 3 step-grandchildren: Jordan, Tyler and Anastasia; 2 brothers: Allen V. Alloway Phillips and partner, Martha Woodcox; David F. Alloway Smith; 3 sisters: Susan D. (Charles) Jones; Jennifer L. (Steven) Griggs; Kathy M. (Steven) Miller; sister-in-law, Lea Smith; many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his ‘one and only’ wife, parents, and step-father: Robert Phillips; 3 brothers, Arthur Jr; J Gregory and Donald K. A graveside service for Dennis will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Sullivan Township Cemetery with nephew, Pastor Jay Jones, officiating.
