Dear Jake and Jackie, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Jake you were a big inspiration to me when you kicked during high school and I thank you for that. Jackie I did not know you too well but in high school you always had a smile on your face and it was contagious. The same goes for your mom. I saw her and almost every Hudsonville Sporting event and she was always happy and always smiling. She was a big person in the small town of Hudsonville. Harrison "Harry" Deters

I knew Denise when we were very young. Our parents and families hung out together. In fact our daddies were best friends! I remember the games we played when I came to Denise's home to spend the night. I was Denise A. and she was Denise B. We pretended to be the "Flying Nun" and with towels on our head we would leap off the bed! What laughs we sharedI I also remember "painting" white fence posts with Indian paint flowers. 😊 I remember Denise as a very talented and inspirational woman. She was always accepting and welcoming. I am so very thankful to have known her. God Bless you all and I am very sorry for your loss. There is one less light on this earth with her absence. Denise Albar Walker

The Angels are blessed to have such a wonderful person to wrap their arms around. My heart hurts with deep pain with this loss, a true challenge for all she left behind. I cry with deep sadness, and smile with great thankfulness that we (Nick and I) were lucky enough to have her in our lives. What a blessing she is and always will be. I love you my dear friend. I had the privilege off knowing Denise most of my life and blessed to have her entire family as brothers and sisters in Christ. I have fond memories of taking Pastor Schmeltzer's confirmation classes (playing ping pong) and being confirmed with her. Through grace alone we are saved. Denise believed that truth and certainly reminded me of that with inspirational thoughts and wordsjust recently. We will keep your entire family in our prayers. Kevin Krueger

The Flaugher Morton family has lost a great wonderful and talented lady today. I am so sorry for your loss. I too have known her all of her life. She was an inspiration to me and so many others. She was always there with a smile, hug and those famous cookies. I remember when she played the piano at school for the 1 st time, her talent, she was my friend, we did cheerleading, camps, band trips and family outings. Many great stories and memories. I remember when she first moved to Ludington MI she said she was glad to bring hugs to the school. I remember how happy she was when she met her husband Jeff and when she was able to enjoy her last anniversary day with him just recently she loves you so much Jeff. I know that her babies Jacob and Jackie where the greatest gift from God for her and that her family was what she lived for she will always be there to cheer you on. I along with the rest of you who loved her and knew her well will forever be grateful for having her in my life. My deepest sympathy to you all and love to my sweet sister and Aunt Neisei. God Bless may you have peace and hug mom, Oma and Opa please. Cyndi Flaugher

Morton Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I loved Denise's kind and caring spirit. She is one of my favorite "baseball moms" ever. I'll never forget getting lost in Stewart FL trying to get from the ball field to a nearby restaurant. We baseball moms figured it out and had a great dinner together. Peace to your entire family. Dear Jeff, Jake, and Jackie, My mind is absolutely racing with what I want to say. SO many memories and so many positive things to say. So many baseball games, tournaments, practices, and hitting sessions in your basement. Birthdays and BBQ's in your backyard. Denise Morton was and always will be one of the kindest, most gentle souls I will ever have the honor of meeting and calling friend. Even in the midst of her battle with cancer she would periodically post responses on my Facebook page about how she was praying for us, missed us, wished us well, and loved the pictures we posted. As you know she was a wonderful, selfless, caring and beautiful woman that God used to bless SO MANY people. I remember when Nick and Jake were playing baseball together when they were about 12 and my Mom died. She did not even know her but she was so thoughtful, loving, and caring. She was so sweet and supportive so a little boy named Nick Rusticus that her son had become friends with and she ALWAYS welcomed him into her house with open arms. I am deeply saddened that we can not be there to see the three of you as we are overseas. Please know that my heart both breaks for you and rejoices for Denise as she has earned her WELL DESERVED eternal reward. Heaven is eternally changed with the entrance of your amazing Mom and wife along with her life-changing chocolate chip cookies! We love you all!!! Scott Rusticus

Dear Jeff, Jake and Jackie, Dan and I are so sad to learn of Denise's passing. We recently learned about her illness from my brother Vince, who is part of the hunting gang, Vince shared he saw Denise at the hunting cabin over the opening weekend and she was her usual, engaging self, getting all the updates from everyone and personalizing her visit with all those present. She was so gracious, so kind, so giving. It's hard to understand why our loved ones are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing her love for all of you was unwavering and her memory will live in your hearts and lives forever. In sympathy, Margie and Dan Clark Margie and Dan Clark

Jeff, Jackie and Jake, The world is a better place because of Denise. She made a difference in the lives of many, including ours. Her smile, kindness and loving heart was contagious. She was quick to listen to and help others. We will forever be grateful for our moments talking with Denise and memories of our times watching the girls dance. She was quick to send a kind note and cookies to others - her cookies were the best and she was well known throughout Jenison and Hudsonville for them. We are sending you all much love and prayers that your many happy memories of your wife and mom will help to heal your hearts. Kim Oostindie

Jeff,Jake and Jackie- Denise will be greatly missed by everyone she crossed paths with. That is very true in our office. She has been a patient for many years and there was never a visit where she ever came in complaining of her cancer struggles. She always wanted to know more about how we were all doing than talk about herself and she always left us with a hug and the most genuine smile I have ever seen. God bless James Brennan

Dear Jeff, Jake and Jackie, I am so sorry for your loss. Denise touched so many people with her kindness and love for others. I have so many fond memories of our times in Bellaire, from the kids running for freshly baked cookies to sharing shopping trips, and just hanging out on the raft on the lake. She loved giving to others and making people happy. And her family, that was what mattered most. My prayer is for your comfort, and that you carry on the love and goodness you saw in her.
