Denise Kitsch

Denise Annamarie Kitsch, age 29, of Kentwood, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clyde M. Makolin, Arthur and Agnes Schmidt; great grandfather, John Govednik; cousin, Joshua Heinonen. She is survived by her sons, Joshua Clyde Kitsch and Matthew Christopher Kitsch; parents, Dennis and Debra Schmidt; sister, Deanna (Jonathan) Damm; niece and nephew, Jaxson William Damm, Dannaca Aspen Damm; grandmother, Marcia J. Makolin; many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Denise graduated from East Kentwood High School in 2004. Growing up, she was an accomplished figure skater and coached in the UP for a period of time. She loved the time she spent up north. She worked as a cosmetologist and expressed her artistic and creative talent. Funeral services will be held Monday at 6pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE, Kentwood. Relatives and friends may meet the family on Monday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment Lakeview Cemetery in Calumet, MI.

Dennis and Deb, We are so so sorry and shocked to hear about the loss of Denise. I will never forget the good times with Ice Skating with Crystal, Denise and all the rest of the team. I'm lost for what to say Denise, you were my mentor in hair school and I still often would message and speak with you about things I had a question about. When my husband went into the military I asked you all the questions he couldn't answer.... you were and endless support system for everyone around you. You meant so much to me and my husband, you were a constant advisor and someone I was hoping to catch up with whenever I was able to finally make it home. Now sadly I won't ever be able to do that. I hope for nothing but the best for your son's, and i am terribly sorry for whatever happened to take you from them so early. I know just how much they loved you, just as much as all of your friends and family loved you. I will miss you terribly...
