Demetrist Farmer Jr.

On Sunday, December 30, 1973, God blessed the world with the birth of Demetrist Farmer Jr. in Chicago, Illinois. And God chose Joyce Farmer (Hill-Gray) and Demetrist Farmer Sr. to be his parents. Being the oldest of his siblings and cousins he was a natural born leader and had a gift to motivate and make people believe in themselves. His nickname Meatdog followed him throughout his life. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Pilgrim Baptist church. Growing up on the South Side of Chicago, he attended Drake Elementary and Chicago Vocational High School. With his passion for music and being business savvy, he started his lifelong dream HardKore Productions in 1991. In 1993, he moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he worked various jobs and continued to grow his business. Meatdog was a father of five and he referred to his children as his infinity stones. On November 14, 2014, he married his life partner, Leatha. Even with a heavy work schedule and raising his children, Meatdog had many interests which included Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, playing Madden and 2K, discussing sports and current events. And for the little guy that turned into the big guy, he had superhuman strength. He also loved his chicken and rice. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie Mae Banks and Ira Farmer Sr, Lillie Riley and Robert Riley; his father, Demetrist Farmer Sr.; his brother, Robert “Tony” Farmer. He leaves behind his wife, Leatha Farmer; his mother, Joyce Hill-Gray (Styles); his siblings, Joy Cain (Antuan), Angela Brown (Jerome), Philip Farmer (Ronnell), Kimberly Farmer, and Keitsha Barnett (Nahum); his children, Demesha Farmer, Demetrist Farmer III, Deshawn Wright, Demarcus Farmer, Demechi Farmer, Murray Mondy, Marquise Mondy, Jaylend Dulaney, Christopher Jarmillo; his grandchildren, Lavish Pruitt and Ke’yanni Wright. He also leaves a host of aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Meatdog touched the lives of so many people because he truly cherished his relationships. His smile, since of humor, positivity, and never-quit attitude were contagious. On Tuesday, November 2, 2021, God blessed heaven with Demetrist Farmer Jr. – the man, the myth, the legend. The saga continues.
