Delores Plafcan

Delores Plafcan, age 97, of Grandville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. Born in Bakerton, Pennsylvania, Delores eventually moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met and married Ted Plafcan. Their married life was spent in Bay City, Michigan. After Ted’s passing, Delores moved to Grandville. There she quickly made many new friends and was always ready for a party or a new adventure. In addition to lovingly caring for her family, Delores was an accomplished seamstress and often used her skills for fundraising events. She took pride in her contribution during World War II as a civilian secretary for a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army. As a result of her secretarial career, she was fluent in shorthand and used it throughout her lifetime. Delores is survived by her two daughters, Denise Plafcan and Cheryl Corcoran, and one grandson, Daniel Corcoran. She also leaves behind her extended family and friends at Waterford Place. The family would like to thank Emmanuel Hospice and the loving caretakers at Waterford Place. Cremation has taken place and interment will be with her beloved husband, Ted, at St. Patrick Cemetery in Bay City. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Waterford Place Benevolent Fund via the Sunset Legacy Foundation.
