Maring, Deane On Friday evening, October 10, 2014, the angels gently lifted Deane (Geradine) Maring, aged 93 of Jenison home to Heaven. Deane had a wonderful, mischievous sense of humor that will be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.  Knitting and crocheting were God-given gifts that she enjoyed, and all of her children and grandchildren cherish the beautiful blankets and sweaters they received from her over the years.  Deane also donated her time and talents to knitting hundreds of beautiful hats for newborns at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Heine, son-in-law, John Katerberg, siblings, Lou Van Vels Nell Camfferman, Coby VanderWerf, Gerrit Van Vels, John Van Vels, Alex Van Vels.  She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joyce Katerberg, Jayne and Tom Wierenga, Nancy and Fred Stalsonburg, Dave and Judy Maring; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth and Lynwood Brouwer, Jane VanderWerf; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce VanVels, Ruth and Jake Theule, Tony and Ann Maring, Ann Maring, Louise Maring; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 15,  11:00 am at Baldwin Street Christian Reformed Church, 2101 Baldwin Street, with Rev. Jerry Van Groningen officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday October 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf  Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Faith Hospice or Oakcrest Manor. Deane’s family  deeply appreciates the staff of  Faith Hospice and  the staff and residents of  Oakcrest Manor, where she lived for the past 3 years.  Their kindnesses and special care given will always be remembered by our family with gratitude.
