David Thomas Sweeney

Sweeney, David Thomas David Thomas Sweeney, aged 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, January 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Sweeney and sister, Kathleen Sweeney.  He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Bernadette; children, Charles Sweeney, Timothy Sweeney, Deborah (Jason) Magee, Thomas (Beth) Sweeney, Sharon (Terri Arthur) Sweeney; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Kim Sweeney; 6 grandchildren, Emily Sweeney, Scott Pummill, Patrick Sweeney, Joseph Sweeney, Max Sweeney, Samantha Magee; brothers and sister, Paul Sweeney, Eileen Radimak, Phillip (Bernice) Sweeney, Richard Sweeney; many nieces and nephews. Dave proudly served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1989 from Michigan Bell after 34 years.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Saturday at St. Dominic’s Church, 50 Bellevue SW, Wyoming with Fr. Charles Dautremont presiding. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends Friday 5-8pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, and Saturday 10-11am at the church. A rosary service will be 7pm Friday at the funeral home.  Memorial donations may be made to St. Dominic’s Church.
