David Terpstra

David L. Terpstra, age 69, of Jenison, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 5, 2019. Dave was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa that cherished his family. He was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Dave was blessed with the gift of craftsmanship and carpentry. He used these talents working for D & D Building Services for 38 years until he retired and most recently was working for Inontime. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Fannie Terpstra, and two infant brothers. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Nancy (Piers); children and grandchildren, Scott and Robin Terpstra (Jaimeson, Natasja), Brian and Jodi Terpstra (Alexandra, Austin), Melissa and Travis Beute (Chloe, Madison); brother, Ron and Carol Terpstra, sister, Mary and Harry Umstead; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Bernie Fogg, Don and Sue Piers, Jim and Judy Piers, Janice Noorman; several loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 7 pm at Cottonwood Church, 1101 Cypress, Jenison, with Rev. Matthew Palsrok officiating.  Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW, and also from 6-6:45 prior to the service at church.  Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Finish the Mission (a local veteran relief fund).
