Family owned and operated for over 85 years.
David Sherman, age 91, of Jenison, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 25, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on a farm in Fremont, Michigan, David was the oldest of six brothers to the late Melvin and Thelma Sherman. He was thankful that his parents taught him about the saving grace of his Lord, Jesus Christ. He graduated from Fremont High School and honorably served in the Army, being discharged in 1955 after serving in Korea. He went on to enroll in the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music, where he met Ruth and married her right after finishing school. Together, they dedicated 30 years to serving on the mission fields in Norway and Cyprus, sharing the good news of salvation with the children there. David was a man who found joy in gardening, building, and serving others. His life was a testament to his faith and his dedication to his family and community.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin James and Thelma Marie (Bour) Sherman; and his siblings, John Sherman, Joe Sherman, and George Sherman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Ruth I.
