David Ray Ellens, age 72, of Jenison, was called home by his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 6, 2022. He was born to the late John and Nellie Ellens on May 27, 1949, in Hammond, Indiana. David was a veteran of the U.S Army and enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jodie Dawson; grandchildren, Selah Green, Josiah Green, and Jonathon Green; brother, Ronald Ellens; and sister, Gloria Kredit. Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Judy; daughters, Kimberly and Ben Green, Melissa and Matt Dupuis; 19 grandchildren; two sisters, Mary and Steve Harmatys, and Beverly Murray; sister in-law, Karen Ellens; and countless nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville) 4145 Chicago Dr. SW with Pastor Dennis Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday from 1:00 - 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Heart Society.
