David D. Kuno

Kuno, David D. David D. Kuno, Jr., age 77, formerly of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014, in Cottonwood, AZ, from an extended illness. He is survived by a daughter, Debra (William) McKernan of Cottonwood, AZ; four sons, Terry (Suncha) Kuno of Tacoma, WA; Scott (Debra) Kuno of Kent, WA; Phillip and Michael Kuno of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren; a brother, Ordell (Maria) Kuno of Brookfield, IL; a sister, Constance James of Matthews, NC. During his early years in Grand Rapids, Mr. Kuno graduated from Godwin High School, served in the National Guard, and worked his own business as an independent owner operator. Enjoying travel, career opportunities eventually allowed him a move west where he was employed with Navaho/ABF Freight Lines for thirty years. He was an active delegate at teamster conventions representing union locals, and ultimately settled in Las Vegas, NV, during his active retirement years. A graveside service will be held 1 PM on Wednesday at Resurrection Cemetery, 4100 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, MI, 49509.

Dave's life's mantra was from the song "My Way". That's how he lived his life and that's how he wanted to be remembered. He lived, laughed and loved with strong determination and few regrets; fought for what he believed, and rarely gave up. He is a fighter, in life and in death, and I have to admire him for that! He did it his way! He may already be organizing for issues of improvement on the "other side". Constance James
