CARPENTER - David H. Carpenter, aged 82, passed away Monday, April 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Clarice Carpenter; parents-in-law, William J. and Leone DeVries; brother-in-law, William R. DeVries. David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty L. Carpenter; children, Rosemary (Randy) Long, Deb (Mark Sr.) Holland, David W. (Tracy) Carpenter; grandchildren, Mark (fiancé, Jessica Proos), Amanda (Josh) Miller, Amber (Mark) Vanderbilt, Melissa (Ross) Schad, Noah, Micah and Jacob Carpenter; great-grandchildren, Abby, Jordan, Jasmine, Addyson, Luke, Josie, Grayson, Logan; brothers, Paul Carpenter, Gordon (Suzanne) Carpenter, Rolen (Betty) Carpenter; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. David retired from Alvan Motor Freight after 35 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Local 406. David loved spending time with his family at Wolf Lake in Baldwin, MI. Funeral services will take place 11:00 AM Friday, April 26 at Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 1601 Post Drive NE, Belmont. The family will greet relatives and friends 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.
