David Bloem

David Bloem, age 79, of Wyoming, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 1, 2021.  During Dave’s life, besides being a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and grandparent, Dave worked hard as an auto body repair technician and was very well known and loved by many in the car industry.  His passion and hobby for working on cars was passed on to his son, Dan. Dave’s favorite ride was his Red Dodge Dakota but his all-time favorite car was a 57 Thunderbird.  During his final days, he often spoke of his parents, his dog Bill, and his brother George.

Surviving are his loving wife of 49 years, Lois Bloem; children, Robin Reed, Daniel (Annette) Sexton, Tammy (Darryl) Roberts; son-in-law, Donald Westra all of the Grand Rapids area; grandchildren, Donald Westra, Jr, Becky (Jon) Hamby, Nikki Ford, Amber Reed, Ariel Estes, Heather Hinman and Denise Cornell; and 17 great grandchildren.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Hendriena Bloem; brothers, Dirk, Paul, Peter; sister Nellie; daughter, April Westra; and grandson, Rick Estes.

Dave’s final resting place will be at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring.
