VERHAGE - Mrs. Darlene Ruth VerHage aged 71, passed away peacefully following a long illness, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. VerHage; parents, Rev. Wm. Herman and Magdalina Mensch; brothers, Dale and Duane Mensch; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Martin and Gerrietta VerHage. Surviving are her daughter, Kelly VerHage; son, Sean (Katherine) VerHage; grandson, Camden G. VerHage; her granddogs, Willow and Winston; sisters, Delores (Ronald) Miedema, Della Kloostra; brother, Donald (Teena) Mensch; sisters-in-law, Marjorie DeHaan, Marlene Mensch; also surviving are her husband's brothers, Terry (Jan), Ernie, Robert and Rich (Linda) VerHage; many nieces and nephews. Darlene was born in Freeman, South Dakota in 1945 to Rev. Wm. Herman and Magdaline Mensch. She attended beauty school in South Dakota, then relocated back to Michigan where she met and married the late Howard G. VerHage and they began their life and family together in Buchanan, Michigan.
