Daniel Victor Rice

Daniel Victor Rice, 64, born September 17, 1952 in Franklin, Pennsylvania, passed away and into our Lord’s care on Sunday, May 14, 2017 after a courageous 22 year battle with cancer. He always saw cancer as a little bump in the road with the attitude of “let’s do what we have to do and get it done because I have things to do.” Cancer is a disease that brings a lot of ugliness to one’s life but Dan only saw the beauty in his life which is why he fought so hard to live. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Francis Edward Rice, Sr.; mother, Norma Huff; brothers, Francis Edward Rice, Jr., John Rice, Russell Rice, Sr.; sister, Rita Seigworth; and mother-in-law, Eileen Howland. He is survived by his loving wife, Rene’e; son, Shannon; his daughter, Hollie O’Neal; his brothers, Lee Rice, Doug Rice, and Tim Rice; sisters, Sue McCracken, Mary Dick, Ruth Rice Stewart, and Pearl Hoskin; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Rick and Julie Kramer, and Robert Kramer; grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dan was a veteran of the US Air Force. Dan worked for Arrow Roofing for 26 years and the family wishes to thank Curt Conkle for all of his understanding and support over the years. Funeral services for Dan will be held on Friday, May 19 at 1:00pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Rev. David Struyk officiating. Interment Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family at the funeral home on Friday for one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Faith Hospice.
