Daniel Mark Stachowiak, aged 56 of Jenison, was called home and went to be with his Lord on Monday, August 5, 2019.  He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Laura (Mekkes) Stachowiak; his father John Stachowiak; siblings, Marie Jason, Marilyn (Dave) Zimmerman, John (Tina) Stachowiak, Joan (Edward) Kunde, Lawrence (Ann) Stachowiak;  mother-in-law, Katherine (Irwin) Mekkes; brother-in-law, Timothy (Judy) Mekkes; sister-in-law, Martha (Mekkes) O’Connor; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda (Maslowski) Stachowiak; father-in-law, Casey Mekkes; and brother-in-law, Bruce O’Connor. Dan was known for his sense of humor, love of music, cooking, travel, love of friends and family, and his deep and abiding faith.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 2700 Baldwin St., Jenison with Father Colin J. Mulhall Celebrant.  Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet the family on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Contributions in his memory may be made to Kids Food Basket of Grand Rapids in which Dan was involved as a driver, ensuring that no child came home hungry.
