To some, Danny was a neighbor, a classmate, or a coworker; and, to everyone, he was a friend. Dan, you were one of one in that you could make a person feel like the most important person in the moment, which is a talent. We went to school together and I enjoyed our interactions, your lighthearted and mischievous nature, your ability to galvanize your Mohawk Elementary mates to play sandlot baseball, and the memories made along the way. Brenee, family and friends of Dan, I should have said this yesterday but I was not really prepared to speak. We heard so many touching stories from Dan's family and friends, that I felt it was necessary to speak about how he impacted his Butterfield East neighbors. Anna and I first met Dan through HYBC little league. Both Dan and I coached our Son's teams. Over the next 5 years or so, as fellow coaches, we developed quite a rivalry. I accused him rigging a draft so he could secure the top player in the league (Millroy). The kid would come to games in a taxi, and I swore to Dan I saw the boy at Sal's ( a neighborhood bar the night before a game). He warned me to not let him near my computer as he would download some bad kiddie pictures and then report me to the league so I would be barred from coaching. We did have a laugh together on our friend Randy, when he left his phone on the table to go to the bathroom. Dan and I downloaded Grinder (a gay dating app) on his phone. It was on his phone for 2 years before we finally told him. At the end of our baseball days, we enjoyed coaching together and all was good. I heard a couple tributes that Dan was a match maker. He was for us in a way also. We watched his beautiful Golden Retriever Tennessee, and from then on were Golden lovers also. We got one for our family, and Zoey was a special part of our lives for the next 12 years. Dan had 2 brothers, but in reality, I say he had 3. Patrick Tyler and Dan shared a deep friendship. I liked to say they were like peas and carrots. Most weekends, Dan's car was at Patrick's house, and if it wasn't, Patrick's car was at Dan's. Patrick, I know you are hurting right now. Over the last 20+ years, I enjoyed many a cigar and cocktail with Dan. I would say the drunkest I have been in the last 20 years was a party in our neighborhood. Dan had told me about a new drink. Vodka and Red Bull. He brought a 1.75 liter of Smirnoff to the party, and we killed almost the entire bottle. I remember talking in the lawn with Dan and a neighborhood boy about football that night. I don't know if Dan decided to coach him up on tackling techniques, but out of nowhere, the kid laid him out right there on the parkway. A hit that would have made Richard Dent proud. Partying with Dan wasn't all good. He went through a phase were his pant would fall down. That is something you can't un-see. I think to this day, I could pick his ass out of a line up. I remember Patrick dressed a Dan for Halloween, complete with pants down and a plastic ass sticking out. When we loose people close to us, you always reflect back on things you wished you would have asked them. It never occurred to me to ask Dan about the nick name Weasel, but it seemed to fit him perfectly. The only other thing I wished I would have asked him was what really happened when he broke his leg the night the Titan's lost the Super Bowl. I lived a block away from Dan. I have to give credit to those who live near him on Ivy. It wasn't always easy. Fall/Winter brought Titan's football. Dan was a blast to be around, except when things broke bad for the Titans. I remember hearing him drop an F-bomb all the way at my house after a Titan loss. After that, I remember a few late game where the Titans were on TV, and as they lined up for a game winning field goal, I would go outside to see if I could hear Dan scream. We will never know if we could have heard him across Lake Michigan, but I wouldn't have bet against it. Whenever I introduced him to people I would say, this is my neighbor Dan. That always would bother him. He would ask why I didn't say he was my friend. He loved everyone, and wanted that back. We would spar back and forth over text often, and more than once I got the reply Your dead to me. I am probably not the only one. But he would also say Love you. And I know I wasn't the only one to get that. Butterfield East was blessed to have 25 years of the Weasel. I doubt anyone from their new subdivision was able to meet and get to know him. To those neighbors I say, you don't know what you missed! Good by to The Weasel. You were a devoted husband, father, grandfather, employee, mentor, and great friend. Everyone is going to miss you.

I was first introduced to Dan when he started his employment at Lift-All. I called Dan to welcome him to the company. I was the Plant Manager of the Houston, TX division at that time. After a few questions back and forth we realized that we both grew up in the same neighborhood and went to the same schools in Bensenville. I knew his brother John and played softball with him at Mohawk school! What a small world! Dan and I became instant friends! Dan had an infectious laugh that made me smile. We had many memorable times together. He was a great asset to Lift-All in managing the Chicago division and leading the safety program! I remember how excited he was to retire and to move to MI to be closer to family. I will never forget Dan! RIP Andy Wesseler-Retired

Dan had the biggest heart in the world! He was the best neighbor and would do anything for friends and family. Over the 20 years that we lived next door he would share food with us, drinks with us and many laughs! He plugged us into his generator when we lost power, took care of snow removal for ALL the neighbors, turned off our water when our pipes exploded while I was out of town, and even removed a dead squirrel from our patio when he heard me scream (true story). He would not only give you the shirt off his back but probably remove all his clothing. (If you know…) Honestly when you were with Dan you felt like his best friend and you knew he truly cared He will be missed by all. Brenee, There are no words to say how sorry we were to hear about Dan. You and Dan have been a big part of our life for the last 20 plus years. We shared kids of the same age, similar interests, and similar sense of humor. He approached everything he did in life with great passion. Brenee, I am so sorry to hear this sad and unexpected news. I can only imagine the tremendous void Dan's passing leaves in your family. I will always remember Dan fondly for his humor and his positive energy when we worked together in the Lean department and plant standardization events. Played so many football games, baseball games behind the grade school when were kids....every day we played something it seemed. When we weren't playing sports, we were kicking balls on the roof of the grammar school during recess and then going up after school to steal them, or teepeeing somebody's house...every day was a ball hanging out with Danny, we were always doing something, some of it trouble but that came with knowing Danny. The one time he found a playboy and the 6 blocks between our house he stopped at all our friend's houses and put a page of the Playboy on the front door of all of our friend's houses!! He was one of a kind, a couple times a year I happen to tell a Danny Paxson story......that's how you know he made a difference! RIP Danny

Danny was one of my brothers-in-law that I had a lot of fun with over the years. The Paxson family was part of my life for over a decade. Wow, to say that this man will be missed is the understatement of the century. He was funny, loving, kind, irreverent (in an amazing way) and so much more. He treated every person like he knew them forever whether they just met or hadn’t seen them in a while…literally every person! My prayers are with Brenee, Bryce and Kenna and families. You were so lucky to be loved by Weasy. We all were lucky to have him in our lives.
