Daniel Maynard Bartlett passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the age of 77. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie Bartlett of 52 years. Dan is missed by his three daughters, Jennifer Storey, Kate (Brad) Meier, Maureen (Brian) Ford; his four grandchildren; sisters and brothers. In addition, Dan is remembered by his large extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. Dan was born in Saranac, Michigan in 1938 and graduated from Saranac High in 1957. He joined the Navy and served for four years. While on leave in Napa, California, Dan met Ann, the love of his life. They were married in 1960 and went on to raise three daughters in Middleville, Michigan. Dan operated his own TV repair business for many years before starting a job with the United States Postal Service, where he retired as a Postmaster. In retirement Dan and Ann spent most of their summers at Silver Lake and winters in California. Travel was special to Dan and Ann and they loved spending time with family. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10-11:30 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo Ave. SE. A service remembering Dan will follow at 11:30 am with military honors by the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s name may be made to Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park.

We are saddened to learn of Dan's passing and extend sincere condolences to the family. Having lived in Middleville and known this family through the church there, we have fond memories of wonderful times with Dan, Ann, Jennifer, Kate, and Maureen. The world was enriched by Dan's presence in it and he will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace, faithful friend.
