Remembering Daniel Hamilton Goode

Daniel Hamilton Goode, age 78, of Caledonia, was called to his heavenly home unexpectedly on Monday, December 6, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; and son, Daniel. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cynthia (Christopher) Tafelski, Scott Goode, Amy (Phil) Swedberg; grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph, Andrew, Spenser, Ashton, Savannah, Sierra, Maximus, Michael, Jacob, Nathan; siblings, Sharon McDougall, Gary (Debbie) Goode, Phyllis Bush; brother-in-law, Jim (Char) Elderkin, daughters-in-law, Wendy Goode, Hadley Goode, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Dan was a warm, caring husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a fun loving man who enjoyed and loved his family and friends. He was an active and supportive member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Dan was a man with a servant’s heart, distributing communion to shut-ins and homebound. He was a dedicated employee of Budres Lumber Co. for 40 plus years. During his career at Budres he was a Master Kiln Operator and named to the Grand Rapids Furniture Hall of Fame. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 13, 2021 at St. John Vianney Church, 4101 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with Fr. John Vallier presiding. A private burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet the family Sunday from 2 - 5 pm at Matthysse Kuiper DeGraaf Funeral Home, 4031 Clyde Park SW, Wyoming, with a Rosary at 4:30 pm, and one hour prior to Mass at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. John Vianney Education Foundation.
